This is the second book in the Roommates series, and I couldn’t wait to get into this one especially with how the author ended the story in the first book.
In this book, Ariella accepts a new role she is offered and has decided to leave London to explore a new life in Singapore. With their relationship still at an early stage, this doesn’t seem like a good time for them to be apart however, they promise to make it work since Ariella now believes it’s Caleb she wants. Caleb on the other hand is on the edge because he has a secret, he can’t get himself to tell Ariella, and this is eating him up. Then, Dominic Miller appears on the scene and our darling Ariella is distracted once again. Caleb in a bid to keep both Ariella and his secret intact, flies to Singapore to stamp his authority and “save” Ariella but she is not having any of that. Unfortunately, this story doesn’t end in this book, and I am unsure if it is actually going to be a happily ever after or if I even want it to be.
What a roller coaster ride? What the heck? All the characters are not okay at all (as Nigerians would say) but did I enjoy the ride? Yes! I was angry, tired, sighing, laughing, and just plain mad at the end when I realized I didn’t have the third and final book. I have not read a book that I can say I enjoyed reading with characters I didn’t like but this book is that one. I really tried to understand Ariella and her complexities and sometimes I did but other times, it was just wild especially when she took us from love triangle to love quadrangle. Shocking even to me, I was still rooting for Ariella and Caleb in all of their foolishness and madness. My favorite character in both books is definitely Ariella’s mother, she was so classy and calm. She seems like a character I would love to meet in real life. Ultimately, it was quite an entertaining read which I can’t get out of my head because we still have unfinished business as I have to read the last book in the series to finally have closure.
I recommend this book if you love enemies to lovers, miscommunication, or chaotic relationship tropes in romance stories. This will be a treat for you. Watch this space for my review of the last book titled End Game.
Thanks again Ola for these books.
The Author:

Ola has spent the last 15 years delivering global events for her clients, giving her more material on human behaviour ‘when nobody is watching’ than she can exhaust.
She spends most of her time observing the symbiotic relationship between the joys and inadequacies of life while stuffing her face with cookies and laughing at the most inappropriate things a little too loudly.
Her favourite things are her loving daughter, her long-suffering husband, falling asleep in hot yoga and having maybe too many glasses of wine with her gossipy friends.
She lives in South West London, and dreams of living elsewhere. All the time. She may have cried at the boarding pass history in her digital wallet during the pandemic. There is no way to confirm or refute that claim.
Ola is a member of the Society of Authors and an emerging author.
