This is the second book in the “Rush Duet” series and I was excited to go into it because the first book ‘Rebel Heir’ ended in a cliffhanger and I was desperate to know what was going to happen next.
In this instalment, after Gia discovers who the baby of her unborn child is from the one-night-stand she regrets, she is worried that it would be the beginning of the end between her and Rush. Gia is wise enough not to expect Rush to stay in the relationship considering what they both know now but still it is so hard for them to pull away from each other except one person takes the bold step to leave and never look back.
This was also an enjoyable read although I felt the middle part dragged a bit and at some point I started yelling at Rush to make up his mind or walk and I understand that in reality, this was a realistic behavior which the authors were trying to portray but from a reader’s point of view it bit a bit too repetitive. However, the way the story ends blows my mind, and I even loved Rush’s character more in this book. Gia was lovely as always, and her dad is the real MVP.
Ultimately, this was a great read, and I highly recommend to all romance lovers. Unfortunately, I don’t think one will enjoy reading it as a standalone without reading the first book because in terms of steam, it was really mild and easily readable by people who don’t like or approve of reading steamy romance novels.
I’ll probably be binge reading books by these authors this year so look out for more reviews of books by them.
