This is the second book in the ‘Sons of Encouragement’ book series I have been reading. I decided to take a break in-between reading the series to read other books to breath a bit it (I tend to do this when reading a series).

This consignment follows Caleb, another minor biblical character who featured during the time when God used Moses to deliver the Israelites from their bondage in Egypt. Caleb was one of the two men whom God allowed out of the lot to set foot in the land he promised to give them because of his faith and courage.

What I enjoyed the most about this story are the historical and sometimes biblical insights that were highlighted. It was also good to get to know Caleb’s character and how he grew to become a man of strong faith and strength. However, I felt like there wasn’t that much meat to Caleb’s story and therefore should have been made shorter because some bits became repetitive and it felt dragged out at some point. Despite the length, it still makes for good reading, and I would still recommend to biblical fiction lovers.

Just to add here that all the books in this series are standalone novels and can be read in any order you like. Would you be interested in reading this book? Share your thoughts in the comments.

Thanks for stopping by.
