Hello friends,
Happy New Week! I’m here again with another episode of the podcast and I really enjoyed having this conversation. This is episode 16 and the 4th episode of season 2. If this is your first time here, you are welcome once again, and I urge you to go listen to all 12 episodes in Season 1 and the other episodes 13 & 14 which are the two last episodes before this one. If you’ve already been following the podcast, thank you for coming back and I can’t wait for us to journey along once again on another season.
Prayer is one of the most powerful gifts God has given us, yet let’s be honest—it isn’t always easy. Some seasons we feel on fire for God, praying without ceasing. Other times, prayer feels dry, routine, or like our words are just bouncing off the ceiling.
In this episode of The 6Eleven Life Podcast, I’m sharing five practical ways to deepen your prayer life so that it becomes more than a routine, it becomes a relationship.
Here’s what we cover in this episode:
- Make Prayer a Priority – Like Daniel, who prayed three times a day no matter the cost (Daniel 6:10), we can choose to build prayer into our daily rhythm instead of treating it as an afterthought.
- Be Honest and Vulnerable with God – David’s raw prayers in the Psalms remind us that God wants the real us—our joy, pain, doubts, and questions (Psalm 13:1–2).
- Pray Scripture – When words fail, God’s Word guides us. Even Jesus prayed scripture, quoting Psalms on the cross (Matthew 27:46).
- Practice Gratitude – Gratitude shifts our perspective and multiplies faith, just as Jesus modeled before feeding the 5,000 (John 6:11).
- Listen for God’s Voice – Like Elijah, who encountered God in a gentle whisper (1 Kings 19:12), we grow when we learn to pause and listen, not just speak.
The key takeaway? Prayer isn’t about perfection, it’s about presence. God longs to draw close to us, and every honest, consistent, thankful, scripture-filled, and listening prayer draws us deeper into His heart.
Ready to strengthen your prayer life?
This week, I challenge you to choose one of these five practices and put it into action daily. You’ll be surprised at how God meets you in that space.
And remember, just like Abraham, who was called God’s friend (James 2:23), or Hannah, whose heartfelt prayer brought breakthrough (1 Samuel 1), your prayers matter to God.
