Word Play Wednesday: This Year……A Poem

Welcome to Word Play Wednesday and a Happy New Year!
Word Play Wednesday is a weekly feature of written and spoken word poetry. I will be sharing my written and spoken word poems exclusive to my wonderful subscribers. If you are interested in sharing some of your poetry, feel free to buzz me and we can work something out.

I hope that you enjoy reading and listening to my thoughts, feelings and rants and in many ways relate to some of them.
Enjoy!

This Year

This year,

I hope you choose God

I hope you place him first

amongst all things

I hope you trust Him

I hope you plant faith like

mustard seeds in the

garden of your heart,

watered daily by his word

I hope you grow your knowledge of him.

I hope you wear praise like a garment

and wisdom, an ornament around your neck.

I hope you cover yourself in prayer like a cloak.

I hope you break bread with brethren,

and drink wine from the vine

that flows from communion.

This year,

I hope you choose yourself.

I hope you let go.

I hope you heal.

I hope you stretch forth.

I hope you really believe

you can do all things

through Christ.

I hope you find your passion.

I hope you’re swift and bold.

I hope you’re slow.

I hope you rest

body and soul.

I hope you’re anxious

for nothing.

I hope you give yourself grace.

I hope you smile, no laugh

a lot.

I hope you get to love

who you are becoming.

This year,

I hope you choose God

in this new beginning,

For he is the beginning

and the end.

And He already chose you.
