September Newsletter: Making Room for What God Is Doing Next

Hello dear friend,

Welcome to September.

There is something about the beginning of September that always feels like a gentle turning point. We are moving away from the longer days of summer, routines are beginning to settle again, and the final months of the year are slowly coming into view.

It is often around this time that I find myself thinking about what has already happened this year, but also about what might still be ahead. There can be a temptation to look at the months that remain and immediately start thinking about everything we still need to accomplish, but I am learning that preparation does not always require more activity. Sometimes it requires enough space to listen, reflect, and recognise where God may be leading next.

That is very much where I find myself as September begins.

There are things I am continuing, things I have intentionally allowed to rest, and a few new ideas that are slowly finding their shape. Through all of it, I am learning again that we do not have to rush ahead of God simply because we are eager to see what comes next.

Thank you for continuing to be here and for making The 6Eleven Life part of your own journey with God. Whether you read the blog, watch the videos, listen to the podcast, receive Wordplay Wednesday, or simply stop by from time to time, I am grateful for every way you choose to be part of this community.

A Month of Creativity and New Expression

When I look back on August, one of the things that stands out most is creativity.

For some time, I have been thinking about how to share my poetry and spoken word work in a way that feels more intentional and fulfilling, without returning to the pressure of constantly creating content simply to keep up with social media.

I did not want to stop creating. I simply wanted to find a better way to share it.

That search has led to something I am particularly excited about: illustrated spoken word poetry.

Combining poetry, storytelling, illustration, and spoken word has allowed me to approach this part of my work differently. Instead of trying to produce something quickly, I can spend time thinking about the story behind each poem and how the words might be experienced visually as well as heard.

It feels like a natural extension of the creative work I have always loved, and I am looking forward to seeing where it leads.

The 6Eleven Life: Continuing the Journey

The Blog

The blog has continued to be the heart of The 6Eleven Life, with new articles each week exploring what it means to live out our faith in practical and meaningful ways.

Over the past month, we have continued talking about prayer, Scripture, identity, waiting, spiritual growth, and the everyday challenges of walking faithfully with God. I have also been writing more Scripture based articles that you can return to when you need something specific to pray, reflect on, or simply hold onto during a difficult day.

One of the things I value most about the blog is that there is no pressure to keep up. The articles remain there for you to discover whenever you need them, and my hope is that over time it becomes a growing library of encouragement for the different places life takes us.

The 6Eleven Life Podcast

The podcast is currently taking a short break following our journey through Genesis, but it will return in October for Season 4.

Completing our Genesis journey gave me a great deal to reflect on, and I have been using this pause intentionally rather than rushing straight into another series. There is quite a bit happening behind the scenes as I think, pray, research, and prepare for what we will explore together next.

I am looking forward to returning to the microphone in October and sharing more with you then.

In the meantime, all previous episodes of The 6Eleven Life Podcast remain available, so if you missed any of our Returning to the Beginning conversations or would simply like to revisit them, this is a good time to catch up before we begin again.

The 6Eleven Life YouTube Channel

The YouTube channel continues to be a space where we can explore Scripture and Christian living in greater depth, and I am grateful for everyone who continues to watch, subscribe, comment, and share the videos.

Alongside our regular teaching videos, something new has now begun on the channel.

I have started sharing illustrated spoken word poetry videos, bringing together my love for poetry, storytelling, visual art, and faith in a format that allows each piece to unfold as a complete story.

Our first illustrated spoken word piece, Come Back, is centred around the invitation to return to God when we have drifted, become weary, or simply found ourselves further away than we intended. Through spoken word and a sequence of hand drawn illustrations, the poem follows that journey back to the God who has never stopped welcoming us.

These illustrated poetry videos will now become part of what I share on YouTube, alongside the regular teaching content. You can also watch them on The 6Eleven Life Instagram if that is where you prefer to connect.

I am particularly excited about this direction because it allows me to bring two important parts of my work together. Teaching helps us understand truth, while poetry sometimes helps us feel and remember it differently. I believe there is room for both.

The Resource Library

The Resource Library continues to offer free and paid resources created to support you as you spend time with God and grow in His Word.

You will find Bible reading resources, Scripture cards, biblical affirmations, devotional materials, and The Gentle Reset collection, all created with everyday life in mind. You can check them out HERE

If you are new to The 6Eleven Life, the free library is a wonderful place to begin. You do not need an elaborate routine or hours of uninterrupted time. Sometimes one helpful resource and a few intentional minutes with God are enough to help us begin again.

Journals and Planners on Amazon

If you enjoy writing your prayers, journaling through Scripture, or simply having somewhere to record what God is teaching you, do not forget that The 6Eleven Life collection of journals and planners is available on Amazon.

The collection includes the A Gentle Start Bible Study Journal and Conversations with My Father Prayer Journal, along with Scripture inspired notebooks and planners designed to bring faith into the practical rhythms of everyday life. You can check them out HERE

I have always believed there is something valuable about writing things down. A prayer written today can become a testimony you return to months later, and a Scripture that speaks to you during your Bible study can become an anchor you remember when circumstances change.

My hope is that these resources become useful companions in those everyday moments with God.

Scripture Inspired Apparel and Gifts

The 6Eleven Life Etsy shop is also home to our growing collection of Scripture inspired apparel and gift items.

From faith inspired clothing to mugs and other pieces designed around biblical truths, each item has been created as a simple way to carry reminders of Scripture into ordinary life or to encourage someone you love with a meaningful gift.

If you have not visited the shop recently, take a little time to browse HERE and see what is available. You might find something for yourself, or perhaps something that makes you think immediately of someone else.

Poetry, Spoken Word and Story Telling

Wordplay Wednesday continues every week for subscribers, and I still love having this quieter space where I can share original poetry directly with you.

What has changed is that some of those creative threads are now beginning to find another expression through the illustrated spoken word videos.

For several months, I knew I wanted to do something different with spoken word, but I did not want to force myself into a format simply because it was what social media expected. Taking some time away gave me the freedom to think about what I actually wanted to create.

The illustrated poetry feels much closer to that.

There is more storytelling, more room for the words to breathe, and more opportunity to create an experience around each poem rather than simply posting another piece of content.

I am still allowing this idea to develop naturally, but I am excited about where it might go.

Behind the Scenes

August has included plenty of work that will not necessarily be visible immediately.

I have been preparing for the return of the podcast in October, continuing to develop future blog and YouTube content, working on the illustrated poetry project, and thinking carefully about how the different parts of The 6Eleven Life can continue to complement one another without creating an unsustainable pace.

That last part remains important to me because I want what I create here to have longevity. I would rather build something thoughtfully and continue doing it well than constantly add more simply because I can.

There are ideas I am excited about and projects I hope to share eventually, but I am learning to give them the time they need before bringing them into the light.

A Gentle Reflection for You

As September begins, perhaps this is a good time to ask yourself what God may be asking you to make room for.

It might be something new, but it might also be something you have neglected and need to return to. Perhaps it is more time in His Word, a prayer you stopped praying, a creative gift you have pushed aside, or simply enough quiet to hear what God has been trying to show you.

Making room does not always mean adding something else to an already full life. Sometimes it means recognising what no longer needs to occupy so much space so that something more meaningful can grow there.

We do not always know immediately what God is preparing, but we can remain available to Him while He prepares us for it.

Final Thoughts

As September unfolds, my prayer for you is that you would have the wisdom to know what deserves your attention and the freedom to release what does not.

I pray that you would not feel pressured to rush into the final months of the year trying to make up for everything that has not happened yet, but that you would remain present with God and attentive to what He is doing now.

And whatever September holds, I pray that you would remember that you do not have to have the rest of the year figured out. You only need to keep walking with the One who already knows the way ahead.

Thank you for being here, for reading, and for continuing to walk this journey with me.

If you would ever like to share a reflection, a prayer request, or simply say hello, you can always reply. I would love to hear from you.

With love and grace,

Biyai
